Arrive at Porto International Airport. Meet your private English-speaking driver outside customs and leave towards Viseu.
Cheese Workshop with lunch: Join your expert foodie guide in Povolide (approximately 20 min from the city of Viseu) and meet our devoted artisan cheese makers that produce a variety of exquisite artisan cheeses including; curried sheep cheese, cottage cheese, goat cheese and mix cheese. Tour the farm and see the plants used for making the cheese and discover the fascinating processes in cheese making. You will have an opportunity to be hands-on and really learn how to make cheese yourself under the supervision of the experienced cheesemakers.
After the workshop, taste some of the cheeses produced at the cheese farm, accompanied by local charcuterie and delicious wines, followed by lunch with the family at their house.
After lunch, enjoy a relaxed drive towards the Douro Valley. Arrive and check-in at your Quinta in the Douro Valley, Quinta do Silval. Dinner will be served at the Quinta (pre-set menu with wines).
Friday: Douro Valley
A Cooking Class with the Viscountess and lunch: Today you’ll dive into a private Cooking Class, beginning with an informal tour with a Countess. Her estate, filled with olive groves, cherry trees, and organic gardens will provide you with ample ingredients to use in your meal. The Countess employs a traditional approach to cooking, combined with a taste for simple yet deliciously rich ingredients, to showcase the most authentic regional cuisine. At the conclusion of the cooking lesson, lunch will be served in the elegant dining room, or al fresco in the patio, where you will enjoy the dishes you have helped to prepare. This experience cooking with the countess is not just a cooking lesson, but also a fascinating journey through Portuguese history and culture and the amazing food from the Douro Region. Lunch is included. We'll then return back to your hotel by bus. Time at leisure.
Winery visit with wine tasting and dinner: The picturesque vineyards of this winery are located in the heart of the Pinhão Valley in the Douro. We’ll talk to a small family winery that is trying to convert to organics. The winery and its property used to sell grapes to Niepoort for some of their greatest wines. Today they make table wines from unique grapes like Marufo. (winery subject to change based on time of year)

Homemade Sausages activity with lunch: Visit an old-school artisanal smoked charcuterie maker and learn all about the best and least-known regional specialities. See the whole process and learn the smoking method used in the region for long term conservation of meats, while ensuring the most important element of any prepared food: perfect flavour. Taste some of the most special products with artisanal bread and wine. For lunch we will gather at a nearby family-owned small vineyard where we will be welcomed by the owners, visit the cellars and taste their premium wines (table wines and Port). Ending with a special lunch with the family.
Leave towards Porto after lunch. Arrive and check into a hotel in Porto, Porto Coliseum Hotel.

Foraging at Cantinho with BBQ lunch: Ever wondered how to forage for fresh, seasonal produce out in the wild? Foraging and cooking is an immersive experience that takes place at an organic farm near Porto (a true oasis just 10 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre).
Upon arrival you will meet the farmers who will give you the golden rules of foraging, explaining what to pick and when. One of the most enjoyable things about foraging is the way it compels a greater awareness of one's surroundings – the need to slow down, pause and look. You will pick herbs, edible flowers, fruits, and other ingredients. Take these ingredients to a couple of local chefs who will work with you to prepare all the parts of a delicious feast and show you that it is possible to prepare an incredibly delicious meal that incorporates the elements that you have just foraged. Finally, you will all enjoy lunch together served alfresco (weather permitting)
